Painting
My first painting instruction began in South Carolina in 1985. Since then I have lived and studied in many places from Hong Kong to Moscow, Russian and Suva, Fiji. Fun fact: I was the first Westerner to study art at the Central Museum of Kazakhstan in 1995. I have also studied art at Florida Atlantic University, the Gage Academy and with many prominent artist workshops. I have had the opportunity to be mentored by master painters Liana Bennett and Mike Wise. Like many artists, I was first encouraged by an art teacher and so I too teach and share my passion for painting. I paint in both acrylic and oil in both impressionistic and abstract styles.
Find me on Facebook at Jackie Gilbert FA "I always start my painting process thinking of color. Somewhere in the process I start moving the energy around. It is never my goal to copy what I see but to artistically interpret the feeling of light and color." -- Jackie Gilbert |
