JR Hawse
Painting & Jewelry
JR (Janet) Hawse is a Pacific Northwest painter and glass artist living and creating in the Seattle area. Her favorite painting subjects include domestic animals and wildlife portraiture as well a western landscapes.
JR Hawse uses watercolor, pastels, charcoal, and mixed media, but is primarily an acrylic painter. “I find acrylics possess an intense color and flexibility which makes them perfect for creating. They are also durable and generally environmentally friendly. “ Hot glass is another media that Janet works with. Using an oxygen-propane torch, premium glass from around the world, and a kiln, Janet creates lampwork beads and jewelry. “It is fascinating to see how glass dances and transforms in a flame and how different it looks when it comes out of the kiln.” JR Hawse is a graduate from the University of Washington and a member of the National Portrait Society of America, Acrylics Art, and Seattle Co-Arts. Her paintings and jewelry have sold internationally. “I am an eclectic artist and enjoy working with all types of mediums. I also like to tell a story in my paintings, beads, and jewelry.” - JR Hawse |
